Congratulations Lauren & Stephen!

Congratulations to our very own Lauren Zimmerman Cook (CEO) and Stephen Zimmerman (COO)! Last Friday, May 15th, they joined their classmates at the USC Davis School of Gerontology in graduation exercises as they BOTH received their M.A.s in Gerontology.

Not only did they both graduate with perfect scores, they made the USC News!

BINGO! for the Arts

Last Thursday, AEC Living and Phoenix Commons were the proud sponsors of Boogie Woogie BINGO at Rythmix Cultural Works here in Alameda. A good time was had by all as we Boogied to the banks and eagerly awaited the call of the next BINGO number, all in the name of "inspiring the community to engage in the arts and strengthen the value of creativity and discovery in everyday life".

A dozen members of the AEC Living family, including employees, residents, Phoenix Commons members, and relatives  attended the festivities. Some of us won, many of us lost, ALL of us had  blast!

Next time, come on out and join the fun!

Happy Veterans Day!

We had a great ceremony today to honor our Veterans. The local Boy Scouts guided us with The Pledge of Allegiance and then it was our pleasure to hand out certificates and Honor Veteran pens to those who served and to the spouses of those who served.

We wouldn't be where we are today with out our Veterans.

Thank you for your service!

Trick or Treat!

Happy Halloween! From ghosts to goblins and tricks to treats, we're not monkey-ing around this Halloween! Residents of Elders Inn are passing out candy and participating in Trick or Treat on Webster, an annual tradition for us here.

We hope all our friends and family have a spook-tacular Halloween this year! Stay safe and enjoy your night!

Local Resource Fair

Last Friday we had the pleasure of participating in the 17th annual San Leandro Senior Resource Fair.

There were over 65 booths present, offering a wealth of information for the community. Can't wait till next year to learn more about what is available for seniors in the community.
