We would like to send a special Thank You to one of our residents family member for donating the tickets.
Palliative Care A Great Success
Thank you for everyone who made it to the Elks Lodge last night to learn about Palliative Care. There was a great turn out and we learned a lot. Please stay on the lookout for more events from Elders Village. We at AEC really believe in the work they are doing and are most certainly going to sponsor more learning events.
Learn about Palliative Care
This evening we are sponsoring Elders Village Talks about Palliative Care. Please join us, the folks from Elders Village, and Dr. Forrest Beaty of Vitas, and learn about Palliative Care. During this informational and educational seminar, Dr. Beaty will answer questions about Palliative Care :
- What is Palliative Care?
- How is Palliative Care different from Usual Care and Hospice?
- Why is understanding prognosis and treatment options important?
- What is the difference between Curative Care and Palliative Care?
This month's seminar will be at 6:30pm tonight (August 14th)
At the Alameda Elks Lodge, 2255 Santa Clara Avenue
Elders Village is a non-profit dedicated to educating seniors about the services and options available to them.
Alameda Elder Communities is proud to sponsor educational opportunities for seniors in Alameda and the surrounding area.
Congratulations to Maggie & Andy
On August 10, 2013, two of our residents, Maggie Walker and Andy Stone exchanged commitments for life in a ceremony at the Waters Edge Lodge. The living room was filled with residents and family members to witness this wonderful and touching event. Maggie and Andy didn't want the formality of another marriage, but wanted to say how much they love each other to the world. After a brief ceremony (which gave David Ruttan an opportunity to wear one of his favorite Hawaiian shirts!), all guests adjourned to the dining room for appetizers, cake, and a toast to the happy couple. A special hula was performed to help celebrate the occasion. We would like to add another congratulations and wish the newly committed couple many more happy years together!
