Phoenix Commons in the news!

Alameda Elder Communities is in the news again! On Wednesday, March 27th, Phoenix Commons, the newest development of the AEC family, was mentioned in the San Francisco Chronicle's article, Senior "villages" keep people in their homes. Victoria Stone, the community development director for Phoenix Commons, was quoted as she discussed the development of this "village with walls". Turkeys!

The Lodge has started receiving regular visits from a couple of Thanksgiving refugees. These two wild turkeys have been stopping by on an almost daily basis just to say Hi! They sure do make us smile when they show up!

Tax Assistance Available at Mastick Senior Center

Now through April 15th, AARP Tax Assistance Program volunteers are available at Mastick Senior Center to provide free tax preparation services to low and middle income individuals with special attention to those 60 and older. 

"To schedule an appointment, please visit the Mastick Office or call 747-7506. If you are uncertain whether you need to file, a tax volunteer is available to assist you on Monday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. This program is sponsored by AARP, the IRS, and Mastick Senior Center Advisory Board."
